Got the new exhaust for the Zuma & put it on this evening. A Spanish Tecnigas TEK that I got from Florida for 1/4 the price of a new stock exhaust 'cos the chrome isn't quite perfect. I Dremelled out the restrictors and it runs very like the stock exhaust- & not really any louder :)

Return of the Zuma!

Back in 1992 Jackie & I bought a 1989 Yamaha CW50W Zuma 50cc Scooter.

I used the bike to ride to the station daily, but then, just before I started working at the church, it was stolen. I eventually got it back, slightly damaged, but by then we had moved in at the church and I didn't need to commute- and so I stored it away and mostly forgot about it until the current ridiculous price of gas reminded me it was there (it gets 80-100 mpg). So recently I hauled it back into the light of day, blew 14 years worth of dust off it, and would you believe it started right up with the 14 year old gas that was in it!

After a bit of a kerfuffle with the DMV (we couldn't find the title and the DMV could find no record of it and so wouldn't issue a new one- then I discovered that bikes like this don't have a title) I got it registered and insured on Friday. I've given it new gas and oil, ordered it a new battery and air filter etc., but it seems to be really happy to be back in the sun as it seems to be running great! I'm going to get it some new tires next and try and fix the little dings and dents the thieves put in it.

Here it is making Dave's Harley feel inadequate while Crispy tries on my new helmet (I had to replace the old one as my head seems to have grown in the last 14 years... shut up!).

Dinner at the Lighthouse in SoNo

Jackie won ''Staff Member of the Year'' at work (finally!), and one of her awards was a check for dinner out.

Church Doors

And while all that's going on the new doors are being put in at the front of the church.

Just another quiet Saturday morning!

Roof Drains

And these are 3 of the 4 drywells they connect to- we're still trying to find a gap in the rock ledge the building is built on to put the 4th in

YMCA Playground

Crispy & I went swimming with Abby, Penn, Julia & Yelena (who all ganged up on me in the pool!). Then we went to the playground afterwards- where do they get the energy? I'm exhausted !

Our trip on the "William Perry"

We had a lovely afternoon out on the Stetson's boat, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out "geotagging" my pictures (embedding the latitude and longitude of where it was taken in each picture and then putting them and our track on a map).

So click here for a Google map where you can either click the pictures in the list on the left, or click the little photo icons, to see a thumbnail picture; then you can click on the thumbnail to see the whole picture in a new window. Oh, and you can also use the map controls to zoom in and then when you click on the list on the left it will jump to that picture.

Have fun and tell me what you think!
