Crispy's Room

While I was upstairs decorating the Parish Hall, Jackie & Crispy tackled his room.

The Parish Hall

All dressed for Christmas.

A bit subdued compared to some years past, but it seemed somehow appropriate to scale back and simplify a bit this year.

View from the skeet station. I got 22 out of 25, just like yesterday- not bad for the first time in 25-odd years! I guess I was well taught, Aunt Lou would be proud!

Frozen lake.

We've just had brunch part 1 and Jackie is off for a soak in the hot-tub while go for another round of shooting. The weather is cold but bright with very light snow falling. And the lake froze overnight.

Jackie bundled up during our afternoon walk by the lake.

Who is that masked woman?

Getting ready for our afternoon walk after lunch and before the bakery tour. It's cold out!

The Lobby on Saturday morning. We've just had breakfast (with extra breakfast), it's 22 degrees outside and we're getting ready for the day's activities.

We just got back from dinner (5 courses!) To find they've been in to turn down the bed for us.

And now we're off for a "night hike"!

Jackie on the Observation Deck (and it's cold!).

Our room @ Skytop

That's Peanut on the bed - Crispy sent him with us to keep us company.

Another masterpiece

Crispy came home today and worked on a picture for a project he's doing
in school- it's an illustration for a story he's writing. I just thought
I'd share it here 'cos I think it's really good (especially the
perspective of the buildings etc. in the background)!

Joke of the week

Just sat down with Jackie and watched last night's Saturday Night Live. Justin Timberlake was very funny as usual, but for me the highpoint was Seth Meyer's opening line of Weekend Update:

Well, it's official. For the next four years it's pronounced "nuclear".

This is brilliant

XKCD is one of the webcomics I read every morning with my coffee- this morning's is particularly good 'cos this is something that has always bothered me!

Haiti, October 2008

I finally sat down and put together all my pictures from Haiti. If you click on the slideshow or the title above it'll take you to my Picasa page where you can see the pictures properly and have more time to read the captions.

Just wanted to share this picture of Crispy I took on Saturday while
we were waiting outside the NICU at Greenwich Hospital when we went to
see the twins. Crispy was fooling around doing all sorts of poses- and
I think this one just came out really well.

This sculpture is in the window of the art shop at the bottom of Rectory St.

I just love that it's framed so wonderfully by the kid's Halloween window paintings!
