Most everyone has headed off to pack, which is where I'm going now
Just thought I'd post this pick of "The Kid's Table" as our small
group came to be known- Me, Jennifer, Diane and Paul. We've swapped
email addresses and other contact info so I hope we'll keep in touch.
And if you guys are looking at this- You Rock! Thanks for being awesome!
now, then dinner, a couple of evening sessions to basically wrap
everything up, and a last social hour. Then tomorrow it's breakfast, a
last check-in with our small groups, one last chapel service and off!
We're supposed to leave here at 10:15, and as my flight for Atlanta
doesn't leave New Orleans 'til 3 I guess I'll have some time at the
airport to get Crispy a souvenir and have a bite to eat.
This has been great, and I feel relaxed and recharged- but just typing
the details about leaving makes me want to get home and see Jake and
Crispy as soon as possible! Not long now!
campfire last night after the silly games, but afterwards I went back
to my room and stayed up to finish my "Credo Plan" so I could have
this morning free. So after a leisurely breakfast I've just finished a
long Skype video chat with Jackie and will now post a few of the
pictures I took yesterday. And then I think I'll go print out my Credo
plan and then go for another stroll around the lake and perhaps sit in
a rocking chair for an hour or so before lunch.
Our "Credo Plan" is a group of 3 goals we have set ourselves to try
and achieve based on all we have learned about (including what we have
learned about ourselves) this week. I was not sure what I was going to
put down, but yesterday after chatting with Jake and finding out that
she was feeling better, the boy had been good at the fair, the dog was
home and hadn't pined too much in the kennels, I sat down to do them
and got kind of into the "zone". I turned off all the lights in my
room, turned up the ceiling fan, opened all the windows, and typed
away (they had given us digital versions of the forms so we could do
them on our laptops if we wanted), editing and refining and just really got into
it. I'm not going to talk about what I put down here- if it affects
you you'll find out more when I get back. We have a looong Eucharist
service after lunch today, and as part of that we get to stand up (if
we want to) and give a brief summary of what we've planned. We then
get our plan to take home and they make a sealed copy that they mail
to us in a year's time.
On a side note- I should get commission from Acer this week. Everyone
has fallen in love with my little Aspire One netbook 'cos they've seen
me updating my blog, skyping Jackie etc. and at least three people
have said they're going to get one for themselves.

called life. Electric word, life. It means forever and that's a mighty
long time. But I'm here to tell you there's something else - the
afterworld. A world of never-ending happiness. You can always see the
sun, day or night. So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills,
you know the one, Dr. Everything'll-Be-All-Right, instead of asking
him how much of your time is left, ask him how much of your mind,
baby. 'Cause in this life, things are much harder than in the
afterworld. This life you're on your own. And if de-elevator tries to
bring you down, go crazy - punch a higher floor."
Ask me what this means when I get back!
all that we have learned, both the information we have been given and
what we've learned about ourselves, and try and put together a plan to
take home that will allow us to act on it. Don't worry though- I'm not
going to come back as a different person, although I may be a slightly
wiser and more relaxed one.
Jackie and Crispy have the school fair back at home today and Jackie
has a lousy cold- I owe her a huge thank you for holding down the fort
while I've been away doing this, I'll have to try and find a way to
pay her back when I get home!
has been crammed into our heads over the last few days. People spread
out all over the center- some walked in the woods, some sat by the
lake with iPods, some stayed in their rooms- I went for a walk around
the lake with my camera (I brought my "B" camera and really wish now
I'd brought my Canon DSLR, but the little Canon has actually done
pretty well) and I spent about an hour taking pictures of the
dragonflies who live around here, amongst other things.
usually my favorite but this was adapted from the NZ prayer book and
the chanting didn't go on for ever so it wasn't too bad, the altar in
the chapel looked pretty with all the candles too.
I snuck a look ahead in the worship book we're using and I was wrong
about there being no church on Sunday- where it says "sharing Credo
plans" on our schedule is actually a Eucharist with the Credo plans
part built in, and it's scheduled from 1:30pm-6:00pm- yikes!

little free time at the moment so I'm sitting writing this on the
porch of the main lodge overlooking the lake through the trees. Next
we have a 90 minute "Healing Eucharist", I told them I'm fine but I
think they're still going to expect me to go. And tonight we have
"Night Prayers" at 8:45- in fact the only day we don't have church is
Mandeville on Lake Pontchartrain called "Rips on the Lake". Very nice
seafood and a nice view from the porch overlooking he lake with a nice
I feel kinda bad posting these pictures of me having fun when Jackie
is at home playing single Mom with a lousy cold- get well soon Baby, I
miss you and the boy a ton!
